Accessory Auricle

Description : A preauricular appendage may be hard and contain a small island of cartilage. A cartilage-containing preauricular appendage is termed an "accessory auricle," and is an ectopic remnant of an embryologic hillock.

A small cartilage-containing accessory auricle is located just in front of the upper border of the tragus.
