Localized Candidiasis

Description : Acute localized cutaneous candidiasis usually develops secondary to local environmental changes that predispose to sweating or, on occasion, after systemic treatment with corticosteroids or antibiotics. In this patient, the increased moisture associated with the wearing of a hearing aid mold has enabled a localized infection by C albicans to develop in the conchal bowl.
