Darwin's Tubercle

Darwin's Tubercle

Description : Because it suggests our common ancestry, it has been termed "Darwin's tubercle." Darwin's tubercle is inherited by means of an autosomal dominant gene which has variable expressivity. In England and Finland it is present in approximately 50% of the native population. Less commonly, Darwin's tubercle projects outward from the convex aspect of the helix.
