Hairy Tragus

Hairy Tragus

Description : The external auricle displays a wide range of minor variations, many of which are the result of specific genetic traits.

With aging, coarse hairs often grow on the male's tragus. This is a secondary sex characteristic, and has been termed "hairy tragus." The derivation of the Greek word tragus (a goat) alludes to these hairs, which bear a fancied resemblance to a goat's beard.
