 Hypertrophic Scars and Cysts

Description : Keloids are the result of an abnormality in the woundhealing process, whereby excessive bulk is produced at the site of a cutaneous injury. It appears that in keloids there is a deficiency of the myofibroblasts (the cells normally responsible for the contraction of granulation tissue).

This large keloid engulfing the lobule arose after ear piercing.
